Convict Break Ends In Deaths At Leavenworth Riot

Seven convicts escaped the Leavenworth federal penitentiary in a riot. Three were found dead in a farmhouse attic, allegedly killed by leader Will Green who then shot himself. Three others were captured, while Earl Thayer remains at large pursued by posses and soldiers. Warden White wounded and in critical condition. other guards and posse members injured. Police say the escape involved firearms and tear bombs. pursuit aided by Fort Leavenworth aircraft continues.

Married Women Workers Vacation Policy At Railroads

Northern Pacific officials announced that married women employed by the railroad and whose husbands work will receive six months leave after January 1. Single women who marry after that date will lose their positions. The policy applies to all dates of railroad operation from St. Paul headquarters. In Canton City, James V.
