League to Refer Manchurian Issue to Conciliation Panel

Geneva December 9 The League’s assembly voted to refer the Manchurian dispute to the 19 member conciliation committee for a rapid report on settlement proposals. The Lytton report and related documents were sent to the committee, avoiding a clash over the four-power condemnation of Japan. The assembly endorsed conciliation with major powers’ support and invited the United States and Soviet Russia to join the committee’s work. the session adjourned indefinitely.
