Fire from an overheated furnace trapped eleven aged residents in a Columbus rest home last night. Three died and at least a half dozen others suffered injuries. The dead were Mrs Adelina Miles 84 Mrs George Miller 67 and William Sisk 71 all of Columbus. One resident George Charka3 was burned critically.
In Oakland Maryland on December 5 a 12 year old boy Nicholas Long from Broadford wandered the school grounds during a holiday break with the principal not persuading him to enter. A neighbor asked why he was not in class and he pointed toward the nearby school. He joked it was a polecat.

The change is seen as a concession to Bremel's Nazi faction as the new appointee will be the first Bremel lander to hold the post since the 1933 transfer from Germany. The Nazis disliked Kubilius for vetoing bills they supported.
