Pierre December 3. State Bank of Hudson D D closed in July 1938 with 208,698.41 in deposits. Bank liquidator Haugo said liquidation earnings since suspension exceed all expenses including real estate taxes. A total 100 percent dividend will be paid on claims.

Ivan Johnson Waives Preliminary Hearing in Embezzlement Case
Ivan Johnson, 35, of Watertown, waives preliminary hearing on embezzlement of 716.32 in tax payments. Bound over to the next circuit court term with $1,000 bond set by Judge Lloyd B. Peterson. Johnson, formerly in the state tax division here since July 1939 until his discharge November 23, appeared in municipal court after voluntary arrest. The complaint, read by States Attorney Alan L. Austin, is signed by J H Bottum Jr, tax director.

Funeral services were held at the Miller Methodist Church for William Shennan Thomas 76 a former Hand County clerk of courts. Born in Kansas he moved to South Dakota 57 years ago and lived in Miller 71 years. Survived by four sons two daughters one step son nine grandchildren one great grandchild three sisters and two brothers. Burial in Rockham cemetery Faulk County.
