Allotment Plan Seen As Likely One
Washington December 2 Rep resentative Bankhead of Alabama a democratic leader said the domestic allotment plan probably would be the nucleus of farm relief. He told reporters it seems the most workable plan before Congress this session. He added the plan would benefit farmers more than export debentures or the equalization idea and that President elect Roosevelt appeared to have something like the allotment in mind.

Fail To Agree On Repeal Bill
The meeting chaired by Sumners failed to yield consensus on repeal measures as committee members debated authority and timing. Rep Turver raised a point of order, and Rep Bacamann signaled doubts about a vote. Michigan’s Michener proposed a substitute tied to alcohol policies, while McKeown urged a constitutional path. Indications pointed to a majority favoring some repeal form, though divisions persisted.
