Doctor Hurley of Gettysburg Laid to Rest After 46 Years of Service
Dr S E Hurley of Gettysburg South Dakota died August 10 at St Marys hospital Pierre aged over 80. He served Potter County and surrounding areas for 46 years delivering care at all hours with little regard for money and died “in harness” after tending maternity cases the night before. His work earned him the Indian communities nickname the Good Doctor and the Hurley chapter of De Molay was named for him.
