Stand On AAA Program Rural Credits Dept Encourages Tenants

Pierre April 30 Millard G Scott farm management supervisor urges tenants to participate in the 1938 soil conservation program but not to compel a tenant if it does not fit his farm. He says land cultivation and occupied buildings matter more for future sites than government payments. In counties where penalties would exceed payments no applications will be filed and tenants may plant full acreage. Due to heavy penalties, the department will not supply seeds and tenants must provide soil-building practices.
