Jail sentences spread in liquor and theft cases across counties

A string of federal and county sentences were handed to residents of Turon Sioux Falls and surrounding towns. Gillian Carsten received four months in Minnehaha jail for violation of the federal motor vehicle theft act. Ray Capps drew eight days in Yankton jail for liquor sale. Ley Sionson received one month in Minnehaha jail for transporting a stolen car and probation. William Ward got 90 days in Yankton jail for Mann Act violation. Frank L Worthen 11 months in Minnehaha jail for removing money from mail with probation. William Eutinger and Sylvia Anderson received 10 months in jail for use of nails to defraud. Anderson probation. Henry Rosenborth fined 100 for buying property and signing for liquor manufacture. Chester Jaavsen three months in jail and 100 fine for liquor sale and transportation. James Stanton 30 days in jail and 100 fine for same offense. Jack Wearham fined 100 for liquor possession. Henry Lee Muron six months and 500 fine for possession and sale of liquor. Wd Smith and Henry Olson Cham berlain 60 days for sale of liquor. Oli Smith fined 200 for liquor possession.

South Dakota livestock shipments to the Sioux City market were reported with cattle prices around 4.27 per hundredweight and multiple shippers listed including Wrickson Brothers Fruitdale and Christensen Trees. Lambs sold over 17.10 per hundredweight with various loads noted and weights up to 1 800 pounds for some cattle bringing receipts.

Miner Extends Free Area After Cattle Re testing

Howard area remains free of tuberculosis after spring re testing of cattle in four herds from a county wide test last fall. Five reactors were found among 127 cattle in the re tests. Federal veterinary in charge Dr R J W Arbistgs of Sioux Falls reports the area remains tuberculin free. In fall testing 24042 cattle were tested with 256 reactors shipped to slaughter. Over two and half years since Miner became a free area farmers have received 22700 in premiums above market price for breeding cattle through county tests.

Twenty two pure bred gifts were shipped to Get tysburg and German pig clubs, two new Potter County clubs. A dairy calf purchase in Wisconsin includes 25 Guernsey and Holstein calves for Haven club and 15 for Gettysburg club.

Warns Against Insurance Aids In South Dakota

April 27 report warns against buying insurance from unauthorized companies supervised by the South Dakota Insurance Department. Vermilion April 27 high school musicians reach the State High School Music contest finals at the University of South Dakota May 9 and 10 with May radio programs on IkUSD. Quadruplets Born in San Francisco Family Report

In San Francisco on Thursday, Mrs. Veto Mauro gave birth to quadruplets three boys and a girl. One boy died soon after birth but the remaining babies and the mother were reported to be doing well. The Mauros already have three other children and the father works as a bootblack.

In Av Welonwa Wetonka and AKaska area farmers bought several new tractors as spring fieldwork begins. The Alaska Farmers' Cream association reports about 4 000 pounds of butterfat valued at 2 500 to 5 000 handled during March.
