Report on WPA Work in Hyde County

Mitchell April 25 Special Repairs and improvements over four miles of farm to market roads and nearly five miles of urban streets and alleys are WPA accomplishments in Hyde County state administrator M A Kennedy reported. The inventory covers projects from July 1 1935 through December 31 1838 and will list WPA work county by county as a nation wide report on public improvements from jobless relief. Graveling and grading accounted for most road work with new culverts totaling four.

The report notes 1 891 feet of roads installed and 4 80 miles of streets repaired by WPA workers at High more. A new athletic field covering eight acres was built and a water well repaired.
