Verne Newland Is Back In Jail After February Escape

Verne Newland, who escaped from Beadle county jail on February 7 while serving a 70 day sentence for third degree forgery, surrendered at Sioux City and was returned to Huron. Deputy sheriffs Harvey Huntley and John Boyle brought him back. Skinner remains at large. State Attorney Leo Temmey has not decided charges. Newland said he wanted rest and to stop dodging the law.

Nebraska man ordered to pay for calling Glass a skunk
