Missouri river valley TVA style plan proposed by Rep Burdick
Rep Burdick Republican North Dakota backs a Missouri River Valley Authority modeled on the Tennessee Valley Authority to cut electric bills in the region by about 548000 yearly. He calls for a 900 foot channel from Yankton to St Louis costing around 1700000000 funded by lower rates within 28 months. He cites projected yearly savings by state including Kansas 99174000 and Missouri 21088000, arguing cheap water transport would lower freight rates for shippers.
