In Howard on April 12 1930 arguments began in the trial of Jack Brune of Sioux Falls for participation in the Canova Security State Bank robbery from a year ago. Brune testified he was tied to bootlegging but not among the four robbers. Alibi witnesses including his wife and brother Ben Brune Gus Beaner and Brune Hirtz backed his claim. State witnesses Carl Lindbloom ex assistant cashier and a witness N C Grasser 82 also testified.

Wayland Bank Renamed and Moving to Wessington

The Bank of Wayland changes its name to Bank of Wessington and will relocate soon to the nearby town. Amendments filed after approval by the state banking superintendent.
