Flint and steel entrants include James Sorenson Melton Prank Virgil Olaf Showell. Visitors Joe Bauer and Bir Carlson attend. Bauer teaches knot tying methods and Carlson instructs first aid group. Eighteen Scouts respond to roll call.
The Gleaming Stars poultry club of Gettysburg met to plan a foods sale across the river at the Indian reservation two and a half miles from Bachelor's hall. They chose six members to prepare three demonstrations for a county contest and discussed egg hatching and incubator topics. Renee Zuber led the meeting with a late start and a brief program.
Hareer Boy Scout Troop 1 held its first initiation on Thursday evening eight boys became full fledged scouts with Scoutmaster Schwiderski and Jon Bauer leading the meeting.
Members of the Lincoln league in Custer township invited Elias Cheguin of South America to speak about his country. He spoke Spanish, described his trip to America, South American homes, climate and industries, and wrote sentences on the board. A lunch was served. Mary Rhoads teaches the school.
Do land 4-H club Doland Cheerful Workers staged a fashion show at the home of Mrs. Thomas last week. Members exhibited completed pajamas from the sewing project, followed by roll calls and greetings from 13 visitors. Refreshments were served by Marian Graham and Endsmade Thomas, club reporters.
Delegates to the C L convention at Huron were chosen at a Lincoln league meeting in Custer township No 5 Friday afternoon Ruth Skinner president presided and minutes were read Garland handed out badges for those to attend the U C S convention at Huron on April 23 Everett Timm and Herman Schroder were selected to represent the school
The Friese Cackle and Crow 4-H poultry club of Wolsey studied Use of Artificist Brooders at a April 7 meeting hosted by Gordon and Bessie Babcock. All members except two responded to roll call. County agent R. A. Cave led a talk on staging a fundraising play to raise camp funds for members in June. The next meeting is April 23 at Lela Allison’s home.
Officials sent official primary ballots to county auditors this week. Ballots list candidate positions for state offices and serve as models for county forms. The Liberty Party uses blue ballots, the Republican white, and the Democratic pink as standard.
The pattern exchanges in Beadle Spink and Hand counties drew 500 women last week. About 75 patterns for women children and babies were shared saving an estimated 90 to 70 dollars locally. Meetings will select a major project for extension clubs next year with county wide vote. New garden club organized at Tulare led by Mrs. Elsie Price. Five members needed to form a standard club. The dairy foods club is another popular short term project requiring only home products.
