Graham Given 7 Month Term
Lowell Graham, a young man who drifted through the Huron area while farm work, was sentenced to seven months in the Sioux Falls state penitentiary for deserting his wife and 16 month old child. Judge Alva Taylor imposed the term after Graham pleaded guilty. Authorities said he deserted his wife Gladys Graham and their child Josephine on December 18, 1928, was arrested in North Dakota, and brought back to Huron. The wife and child live with relatives on a farm. A Red Cross report noted shelterless conditions in Guion.
