WATERTOWN April 7 Special Site Commander Harry C Kehm and Department Adjutant J D Mullaney outlined membership plans and compensation issues at a fourteenth district American Legion meeting in Aberdeen. Fecrietta Paulson of Summit led the Americare Legion Auxiliary. Commander W F E Rowe directed the session as district commander. Mullaney stressed enrolling every ex serviceman and woman who served in World War I and lives in South Dakota, noting a potential 20,000 members to strengthen benefits advocacy. Kehm explained government compensation rules under new economy law. State and district officers will visit Howard April 29 and Miller April 20, with a spring circuit to attend all district meetings.

Volin Ships Grain First In Two Years
A carload of barley was shipped from Volin by the Farmers' Trading Company elevator in Minneapolis, marking the first grain shipment from Volin since February 1931. Drought in the Volin area reduced crops, with home use and necessary imports for feed and seed dominating the past two years. The barley was of 1922 crop and poor quality.
