Pay Bounties For Animals In State
Pierre April 6 The annual war on predatory animals in South Dakota opened April 1 with a 25 000 bounty fund to pay for wolves mountain lions coyotes and bobcats killed during April May June July and August. Bounties range 25 for gray wolves 10 for mountain lions 3 for adult coyotes 3 for coyotes pups and 3 for bobcats. Claims total must not exceed 25000 and are prorated if necessary. County auditors must approve claims by October 1. Game department director C H Dotrson urged poachers to target coyotes especially adults to curb breeding stock and noted information will be provided to locate dens.

Settlement Reached in $10,000 Life Insurance Suit
Sioux Falls reports a suit by Margaret C Ward against Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York was settled out of court for 7750 dollars. Walter Ellis Ward died from a gunshot wound while hunting near Elm Springs farms on April 27 1932. He worked as a weer examiner for the Sioux Falls Trust and Savings Desk and was formerly with the state banking department.

Danielson to Leave State Office in Pierre
B R Danielson, assistant secretary of state for six years, announces he will step away effective Saturday. A Republican, he served at the pleasure of Democratic secretary Myrtle Morrison and came to Pierre from Houghton. Morrison will name a successor later this week. Frank Kriebs also says Ralph McKinnon of Sioux Falls will become estimating engineer in the beus department, replacing H H Pickett.
