Pierre April 6 A proposal from Governor Teeth that three eighths of South Dakota four cent gasoline tax be diverted from highways to fund public schools was advanced by Governor Green seeking renomination. He proposed taking one and a half cents per gallon, replacing the gas tax refund, to be distributed to county school funds and then to districts by county as per pupil counts. He claimed it would lower real estate taxes without harming the highway program and urged replacement tax legislation.

Two Bank Robber Suspects Taken
Gettsyburg authorities arrested two men south of Lebanon after an attempted robbery of the Agar State Bank on Friday night. H. D. Robbins and Charles Karl were brought to the jail and identified. Robbins confessed to a spree of robberies from New Mexico to Wyoming and South Dakota. They were found with a coupe Robbins had stolen, a revolver, an acetylene torch, knives, clothing, instruments, and field glasses.
