Teacher Undergoes Appendicitis Operation

Wellington reports Martha Bowman, a Northernland County teacher and local regimental member, improved after an appendicitis operation on Monday. Bowman became ill Friday and is a niece of Daisy Bowman of the area. she is a graduate of Wessegor High School.

Traveling man causes arrest of auto thief Aberdeen

A traveling man overheard a thief’s plan to steal a car to reach Aberdeen. In Watertown the suspect confessed and was arrested. the traveling man, nicknamed Sherlock, declined to give his name. The arrested man will be returned to Watertown after a telephone confirmation. Also, Mrs Jack Gillette, wife of the city treasurer, died in Mitchell from poisoning, after a short illness.
