Citizens and Chamber of Commerce leaders organize a memorial plan after President McKinley’s death. A committee is formed to arrange a public condolence meeting, coordinate telegrams to officials, and schedule a city memorial at Kawailoloa Church with closures and band music.
At a Ministerial Union meeting plans were discussed for a public memorial in memory of the late President. A conference with business leaders was arranged and Rev. WL Werterevelt, Rev J Portman, and H C Brown were named to confer. After the Chamber of Commerce afternoon meeting the committee stated no further ministers would be needed.
The regular meeting of Court Cas Rios No. X10 was held Tuesday evening at San Solo Hall. Members included Pacheco, Woo, Gonsalves, Leal, Alvarez, Perry, Correa, Colto, and others. Officers installed for the ensuing term include J. A. Re Viera CR TP Melim and a slate of named officers.
The Paritie Tennis Club opens its Invitation men’s doubles tourney with matches scheduled for today. Teams including Davies with We Aw Hora and Wilder with Dillingham win their early games while Cooke and Alexander beat Fuller and Waterhouse. Today’s lineup features Adam and Rock vs Check and Nowwell, Hot h vs Cooke and Alexander, with defending champions set to play Saturday afternoon.
