Agnes Kalua daughter of Judge Kalua died September 12 at Wailokalani Hospital from inflammatory rheumatism after illness began in May. Funeral at Enahumane church followed by a large, multi-school and community tribute with a grand procession. Avot Kalana was born in Wai Lua March 27 1875 and died at 24 years 6 months 16 days.

The boat sank quickly after an anchor and gear were swept overboard. they frantically steadied a life and reached shore after a half hour struggle.
