James McGarry longtime Chicago saloon keeper and model for Dooley of Archey Road is gravely ill at Wentworth Hospital with stomach troubles and other ailments. Friends fear his death tonight as memory fluctuates and he occasionally fails to recognize longtime patrons. For 35 years he ran one of the city’s best known saloons and inspired Dunne to write the famed Dooley stories.
