A long time member of St Andrews Cathedral he held church posts and leaves a widow five children. Funeral services will be held at St Andrew's Cathedral.
Tomorrow afternoon at Velock the cathedral hosts Willis and all clergy for a service. The choir meets this evening to select music under director Wry Taylor who will officiate on the organ.
The first anniversary celebration of the Young Hawaiians Institute pleased the Jorge audience. Henry Smith opened with a brief address, President Wilcox introduced vice-president Coelho, Prof. Berger urged continued music, and he suggested collecting Hawaiian airs for future performances. Word from the John Bergstrom Organ Company of San Francisco reports the Castle Memorial Organ for Oula College is progressing. Wind chests interior wood-work and bellows are completed with the case under construction. The pipework is already on its way to Hawaii. The organ will be a beautiful one when finished.
Public interest grows as 123 ballots cast since noon yesterday in the Bulletin contest. No ticket hoarding allowed and all coupons must be voted before the second day after publication. Names with fewer than ten votes will be published later in the list. Ballots opened at noon today by Messrs White Stiexer and Williams, the committee in charge.
Yesterday afternoon both judges of the District Court presided. In Judge Perry's private room the examination of Mitele lt for breaking into a Japanese named Susikashi Einano's house ended with bound over to the Circuit Court on bonds fixed at flood. Charles Browter pled guilty to forgery counts and was held for trial on both charges. He is accused of forging Brashtow money orders for 68.56 and another draft for 20029 while Jose and W C Wilder Jr are named in connection with the draft. In Judge Wiley's court the perjury examination of Law so on aw charge concluded with a finding there was no reasonable probability of conviction. All other calendar items were postponed to future dates.
A report mentions forest fires near Portland Oregon and notes the American River St Paul making its first New York to Southampton voyage in seven days and 52 minutes, which trails the St Louis ship by seven hours and fifty minutes.
