Taft party travels far to study Philippines plans
A Taft party of seventy congressional figures began a long journey from Washington on June 30 to gather information on the Philippines and the region between the capital and Manila. The trip, largely self financed, aimed to deepen understanding of the United States’ role in the archipelago while showcasing a diverse group of political leaders and industry figures from across the nation.
