Kohala Post Office Robbed Seventy-Five Cents Taken
Kohala Hawaii October 1 The Kohala post office broke into last Saturday night. A small iron safe containing jewelry was not disturbed while the thief opened by swinging the door. Only seventy five cents lay on a table, believed left by a customer. Miss Mabel Woods, post mistress, found the scene in disarray but feared the burglary. Several local notices list community happenings and staff changes at Kohala plantations and clubs following the incident.

Railway Regulation Blockade Rumors across Washington
Rumblings say the Senate committee led by Senator Elkitioty may fail to present a railway rate regulation bill by December 1. President’s stance strengthens a stricter measure with Interstate Commerce Commission powers, while Eskine, Foraker and Aldrich seek delays hoping to stall until adjournment. The Republican Party faces an uphill battle in elections without a clear railway reform bill.
