Wire reports from Kahoolawe and surrounding islands describe ongoing volcanic activity at Mokuaweoweo and Kilauea. Steam, smoke, and ash were visible along the coast as steamers Habitant and Kina observed emissions and distant glow from the crater area during Friday night and Saturday.
Wilas FP McClegnan, appointed by the U S Treasurer, seeks to disburse a congressional appropriation of one million dollars for fire claims from the Chinktown plague. Three separate chancery cases dispute exact payments, naming McClennan as plaintiff and claimants as defendants to determine rightful recipients.
Moh intereet 6 plans three Saturdays of baseball in Honolulu. Trustees of Teague oy menne consider a deal to secure new ground for free, with the teams paying incidental expenses. President Inelberg and the liberal trustees are expected to allow three games to be played on the grounds at no charge.
Friends describe Dr Harvey Murray as well known in the city where he resided ailing for several days. J D Willard Republican candidate for County Attorney of Kanal questioned the court this morning about a potential case against FH Jordan. Ballantyne of the Honolulu Rapid Transit Company accused Jordan of receiving stolen goods found among iron at Jordans store. The matter led to arrest discussions, with no charges filed and Jordan advised to seek remedy through proper channels.
Judge MUpis M. Eptee opens the October Term of the United States Dietrick Court. Twenty three grand jurors were summoned. ten remained after excusals for various reasons including illness and noncitizenship. A special venire for fourteen jurors was ordered returnable at 2 oclock.

Japanese minister hints possible hostilities with Russia though no ultimatum is given. Berlin notes no definite progress disclosed by embassies.
The Philippine constabulary nearly wiped out a band of head-hunters in Nueva Viscaya. In a recent pitched battle they killed fifty three band members and suffered two casualties.
In Browning Montana a violent drunken quarrel among Flathead Indians left seven dead in their beds and many wounded. The incident occurred after an orgy and widespread intoxication. News despatches from the Flathead agency describe the carnage and calls for investigation.
The executive council discussed a plan dated October 1 in New York. Kepolkal Hovolntn Honitin changed to 10 percent, with bids to open November 1 and delivery set for November 24. Return to Siberia with the bonds labeled Carter. No further action deemed necessary. Members expressed satisfaction with the condition of affairs as shown by Carter's report.
