Horner system drives Hawaii sugar cane transport
On Hawaii, the Kukalau plantation expands cane acreage to Rose Bamboo Yellow Caledonia and Lahaina with a Wright five to six mile gravity cable system. The Horner method uses patent locked wire rope and trolley car delivery from field to mill, reducing road work and labor, aided by specialized loaders and derricks. John Moir manages Onomen properties and P. C. Jones chairs the company board with Honolulu agents Brewer Co. and others.
