The Hawaiian Historical Society held its annual meeting with modest attendance. Officers were elected including President N B Emerson and First Vice President S B Dole. Hon Percy Smith of New Zealand addressed members, praising Hawaii’s scenery and proposing a phonograph record of native names.

From Wild Swap officers in San Diego on November 17 it was learned that two cruisers the Leander and Phaeton and two torpedo boats the Sparrow Hawk and Slasher sail to reinforce the British North Pacific squadron. The torpedo boats are first of their kind sent to the station. The Wild Swan departed for England hoping to meet the Leander and torpedo boats at sea.
