Secretary Taylor reports on Hawaiian sugar crops for 1898 99, listing totals by island and plantation names, plus labor by nationality and contracts. The Garonne mule transport endured a Pacific storm out of Seattle, with losses and injuries among crew and animals, delaying docking in port.
Dolin Hopp a resident of the Trands area for over forty years died at his home on Alaken Street at 11 am aged 71. Born in Holstein Germany in 1828 he came to the United States in 186? and settled in Oakland. He was connected with the furniture business J Hopp & Co. Survived by three daughtersMrs Engl Hing of Oakland Mrs Marshall and Dora Hopp and a son William Hopp who died in 1881. Funeral at 8:30 pm tomorrow from his residence.
Major James Allen, a passenger in the Hancock en route to the Philippines, assigned to the signal corps command there. He is credited with sending the first news to General P Greely of the pre ces of Cervera's fleet in the harbor of Santiago. Allen is a native of Indiana and began service in 1899.
J. Hil owner of Hawaiian Soda Works acquires Keaweamahi property on Emma street above Vine quaus, nearly an acre, calling it a modern works site and one of the citys most valuable parcels.
The current Kilo hana Art exhibition impresses with high standards and clear improvement over prior shows. The first view reception Monday night drew Honolulu society figures who praised the artworks.
Orpheum management schedules a Thanksgiving matinee on Thursday afternoon with an entire program change. A first class show is promised with admission 26 cents for adults and 10 cents for children to all parts of the house.

Major Manly Curry of the Paymaster and U G A is a messenger to the troops now with Major Gary Jackson of Hon M Cane Minister to Spain during the first Cleveland administration.
At the Kihel stockholders meeting 43 677 shares were represented of 60 000. The meeting approved minutes, ratified the amended grinding contract with Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co. A $12 per ton rate initially set by Kihel was raised to $12.60 per ton by Hawaiian Commercial. Minor contract changes were approved by shareholders.
The Portland couple William Hugh Wallace and Marion Eugene Folsom wed at St Andrew's Cathedral with Rev. Alex Mackintosh officiating. Maid of honor Mims Jeasle Lotapeich and best man Arthur Wall, ushers including Mosars and Penhallow, attended. A supper followed at the Folsom home on Thurston Avenue and the couple will honeymoon touring the islands before settling in Portland.
General Fred Funston arrived from Kansas staying with his wife’s parents in East Oakland. He is in good health and will sail for Manila this week. Mrs. Funston, from the 20th Kansas, accompanies him and will join his staff.
The Kaimuki pumping plant on the Gear Lane is in excellent shape. Bream was prepared yesterday afternoon, and the plant ran for a full half hour with purely satisfactory results. Full connections with the wells will be made this afternoon under the direct supervision of F. E. Richardson.

On Saturday November 18 fifty six British prisoners including Royal Dublin Fusiliers arrived in Pretoria via Lourenco Marques. Crowds gathered at the railway station but no demonstration occurred. Winston Churchill, wounded in action, was taken to the Model School while others were sent to the race course.
The report of the General Chief of Ordnance shows that the Ordnance Bureau expenditures for the year ending June 20, 1899 totaled 23,796,786. It notes progress on rifle and field gun production and mentions shipments of twelve inch howitzers to Manila.
London reports a week with little change in the siege of Ladysmith and a growing hope that General White's forces can hold out until relief arrives as Britain grows more confident about their fate.

First Battalion will attack from Rocky Hill with one field piece as Second Battalion defends. The two battalions of the First Regiment N G HL rehearse a mock clash tomorrow morning marching from the drill shed to Punahou pasture. Col Jones commands the event with colors presented by Mrs Dole to the winning Go F company. Spectators should watch from the Waikiki edge for best views.
