Boating party aboard steam launch and social notes
A post sentient boating party hosted by Captain and Mrs. Taus last evening drew about thirty guests. They used a steam launch and a line of five boats with instruments for songs, proceeding to U S S Bennington for supper. Attending were Mr and Mrs Porter Boyd, Dr and Mrs Howard, Mrs Haywood, several Mrs Damon and Miss Carter among others, with singing continuing on the return trip. In other items, a Wai damage suit saw a jury session this morning while a nonsuit motion was argued, divorce cases moved forward, and stock exchanges noted brisk activity with several trades reported. A patent remedy for pain was recommended for chest, side or back pain, offered by Benson, Smith & Co.
