County tax receipts enable road work to restart
Tax collectors report last night at 21 o clock shows $55 001 14 collected during the day and just over $400 000 for the year. The county will receive half of $200 000 with $110 000 already paid and $90 000 remaining, $15 000 of which is to be kept as a reserve. This frees about $72 000 for November and December to resume road work and other expenditures. Tax Assessor Holt notes receipts meet or exceed his estimate with delinquent totals low and awaits returns from adjacent counties next week to finalize yearly gains.
