Company D Dinks High Jinks Meeting Tonight In Uniform

Health board official leads Kinau to Leper Settlement visit

Executive Officer O B Reynolds of the Board of Health sails on the Kinau instead of waiting for the Lotan to visit the Leper Settlement. He will land at Kauoukukai with Superintendent Wm Muteh of the Bishop Estate and proceed to Kalaapapa after rest at the Meyer home, while Mr Mutph ie handles the Bishop Girls Home sewerage. Reynolds will oversee improvements at the Settlement and will not return until the Board of Health's semi annual expedition ends on the 26th inst.

President and Dole Visit Hawaii and Exhibition Event

The president and Mrs Dole left early morning for Kibo lo Koui seeking rent terms and to review land and road issues while in Hawaii. They will hear residents on open government tracts for settlement as well. Invitations issued for the Kilohane Art League Autumn exhibition opening night next Monday. members may bring one guest.

Young Hawaiians Institute Elects New Officers at Annual Meeting

Crowded Foster Hall on Nuoana Street yesterday for the Young Hawaiians Institute annual meeting. Charles Wilcox presided as he handed over to new officers Dr. Huddy as provident George L Deaba vice president Isaac Sherwood recording secretary James L Holt financial secretary James K Keola material. Henry Smith spoke on the Benefites of the Association and Poepoe presented the Legend of the Hawaiian Jonah. The program included a Hawaiian song and dancing with refreshments after.

Frawley Company Season Opens With Christopher Junior

The Frawley Company ends its week of offerings and shifts to ticket delivery for subscribers. The company arrives Thursday morning and opens that night with Christopher Junior, a witty comedy full of laughter and complications. Blakemore stars in Arabian Nights, delivering strong audience cheer, while Shenandoah promises grand military pageantry to close the first week. Finale sale begins Monday. Detectives Use Deception in Witness Interrogation

Detedtv Doyle and Chester Doyle were assigned to obtain evidence in a case yesterday. The ruse involved a deaf disguise at a Chinese restaurant where a Chinese waiter used pencil and paper to order dinner. An officer in a Baltimore blue jacket joined, yielding the needed document while others remained unaware.

Senator Pettigrew and party, including Prof. W. D. Alexander and Hon. P er Smith, of New Zealand, along with Col. De la Vergne and B. F. New British Consul General Kenny to occupy Palama

Negotiations to fill the late Commissioner Hawes seat at Palama were practically concluded today. Mr Kenny will reside there as consul general, with Hawes’ lease extended nearly four years beyond the original five year term.

Government gains from tobacco license bill passage

The government reaped a handsome reward from the tobacco license bill urged through the Legislature by Hon. S. M. Dawon, the Minister of Finance. This morning the treasury of the country stood $6600 better off as the fruits of the measure, with no one worse off for it.

Superintendent Howell expected to depart for Hawaii this morning with timber for the new Hilo wharf, but the Kinou refused the long timbers. Mr. Rowell is waiting for the steamer Hawaii to be engaged by the department to leave at once with the material.

Accused of Koloa Murder Four Hawaiians face indictments tomorrow

The change of venue granted by Judge Hardy at Libus moves the murder trial of Dr J K Smith and four accused with two as accessories. They were brought on the steamer W G Hall before Judge Perry with A G M Robertson and A Rosa aiding defense and W A Kinney prosecuting. Nukookoo was found guilty of gros sbest after a three day native jury trial. Judge Perry ruled on demurrer in the ejectment case Hulin ve Kasuwana. appeal noted by J K Kaolin. Guardian George S Houghtailing reports receipts 85979.70 and payments 12820.55 leaving ward debt 6940.88.
