Fire Alarm on Oceanic Dock Extinguishes Rubbish Blaze

A fire alarm rung at 5:35 AM by the Custom House guard on the Oceanic dock to report smoke near the Alden Besse. Seamen had swept decks and rubbish was gathered into a pile. smoke appeared at 5:15 AM from sealed interstices around the main hatch, a small blaze quelled by buckets of water.
