Captain Packer and officers returned from Waialua with the Objonman under a $50 fine. The man awaits payment at Waianai District Court while another assaulted officer remains in custody. An angry mob swore to kill the victim if given a chance. Four Chinamen arrested for rioting were sentenced to eighteen months hard labor by Judge Krekabana. The town is tense as the events unfold.

Young man cleared in Police Court larceny case

Konahala appeared in Police Court for larceny in the second degree, claimed alibi with two witnesses and was discharged after alibi evidence contradicted by Kane’s testimony that the watch was handed to him. Judge Wilcox allowed the benefit of doubt and discharged Konahala.
