Labor Complaints Over Park Work Hiring Practices
Acting Governor Alt Cartinson forwards a complaint to Holloway alleging Asiatic carpenters and stone masons are employed on Territorial work at Kaplolani Park in violation of Act 37 of the 1903 Laws. The Honolury Trades and Labor Council similarly urges remedy, citing taxpaying citizens and concern over non citizen labor filling positions. Sam Yowell, secretary, urges swift action before Governor Carter’s mainland departure.

Rivals For Possession On Kihau Street Lor
John F Colburn petitions a writ of prohibition to stop Irene M Cornwell and High Sheriff Arthur Brown from enforcing a district court eviction for premises on Kinwa street. The case traces back to 1902 when Judge Dickey favored Cornwell for rent arrears, Colburn appealing to the Supreme Court. May 26 writs were issued despite repeated tender offers of $116.98, challenging district jurisdiction and seeking prohibition to halt eviction. A cable from Hackfeld & Co notes the steamship Iberia arriving in San Francisco.
