A small fly that feeds on the fantana seeds thrives on the experimental grounds and may protect fertility by destroying the seeds.

Superintendent of Public Works Ht Cooper inspected Koolau side roads and bridges after a breakwater was carried away. He noted fordable crossings and needed repairs to the main road bridge and adjacent routes, with funding proposed in the general appropriating bill for the breakwater and bridge.
