Samoan Commission members tour Bishop Museum and Kwa plantation

Still They Got Here From There Aboard The Bryant

The bark C. D. Bryant from San Francisco arrived in port after a thirteen day voyage with thirteen crew aboard. The ship faced a near annihilation during a storm when three miles of rigging were carried away but survived otherwise. A cat died on the voyage. Subscriptions to Olan Sugar Co stock were reported as rising, with figures withheld for now.

Lecture at Oahe College by Professor Hitchcock on The Ice Age

Death and romance mark Columbus soldier's memory

The Morgan City transport, sailing from San Francisco on April 25, docked at Morgan City to coal up before Manila. The ship carries 601 recruits to replace fallen men and 500000 pounds of commissary and quartermaster supplies under Capt Lombard. Britain Seeks Nicaragua Transport Concessions Amid Treaty Talk

A Washington dispatch reports Britain may obtain transport facilities across Nicaragua in exchange for scrapping the Clayton-Bulwer treaty. The State Department notes no official confirmation yet of Managua talks or a possible option granted to a British consul or firm to acquire railways and airfields for 6,50,000 praca. Officials see the move as part of Britain extending control over Nicaragua’s transport links while the US weighs the treaty abrogation.

Quaker Doctor's Medicine Sale Intervened by Mounted Patrols

Charles Ferdon the Quaker doctor addressed a large crowd at Hotel and River Street urging medicine sales while permission was granted to Miller Street area. Mounted patrols arrived halting the crowd. officials denied harshness and said patrols acted only to clear the street. The doctor claimed a Chinaman was injured as people fled. officers said they had not even fired a single word and that crowd dispersion came from the Chinese Japanese and natives present.
