Thirteen to fourteen men entered quietly, opened every tin and box, then loaded the contraband onto a dray and scow. They towed it three miles offshore, dumped contents into a scow, and dumped the opium into the sea, returning by 10 PM with 505 tins accounted for from various ships and seizures.
