Hawaii Territory Explosives Storage and Safety Act Enacted

The Hawaii Territory legislature enacts a broad explosives control law. It places storage testing and warehousing under the Superintendent of Public Works, sets quantity limits for gasoline kerosene and other hydrocarbons, requires steel tanks and safe magazines, and mandates safety procedures, inspections and penalties for violations. The act applies to blasting powders nitroglycerin calcium carbide and other hazardous materials with penalties up to five hundred dollars or six months imprisonment.

Territorial Hawaii Pay of Officers on Active Duty Act

Enacted text adds four sections to the Revised Laws of Hawaii to create Sections 162A 1698 WZ and 10. It provides officers on active duty in the Territory receive the same pay and allowances as U S Army officers provided they do not duplicate pay or allowances already received from the United States for similar service.
