Senate debates on bonds and pier surveys in Hawaii

In the Senate this morning Senator Kauhane opened with prayer. House Bill 74 and Senate amendments to House Bill 52 relate to imports and assessments. The Interior inquiry asks about Kahalui pier surveys for Hawaiian Sugar Co. and possible suspensions. Minister Damon answers questions on debt refunding and public loans, with House Bill 53 on consolidation of the public debt.

Odd Fellows Picnic and Ball at Sans Souci Scene

Bennington Readies for Possible British Warship Arrival

Plight of Bridges Prompts Island Inspection Trip

W. E. Rowell rode out on horseback yesterday to visit workmen laying new bridges along the island north side. He plans to inspect all bridges and roads and return tonight. J. McClellan, the department bridge builder, departs by steamer Keuni this afternoon to construct the new bridge on Kausi.

Barbed Wire Fence Bill Moves In Omaha Exposition Session

The House votes $8500 for an Omaha expedition and takes up barbed wire fence legislation. The Public Lands Committee favors House bill 72 on barbed wire fences along public highways.
