William H. Coney Dies After Illness in Hawaii
William H. Coney city editor of the Advertiser and later the Bulletin, died at his home on Richards Street after a heart illness aggravated by a Sunday grip. Born November 30, 1873, in Kaa1u, Oahu, he studied at Ohio State University and rose from waterfront reporter to city editor. He was a key Republican figure in Territory politics, a charter member of the Pacific Tennis Club, and active in the Hawaiian literary field planning legends collection.
