Legislature In Session Resumes Work On Appropriations
The session opened with eight senators present as President Wilder called the Senate to order. House Bill No. 5 passed third reading, with several judiciary and public lands measures discussed. Bill No. 14 on contested elections and a recodification commission were advanced, while reports on water rights and district court records were noted. House proceedings included petitions for Hawaii road funding and leper settlement needs, with debates on street layouts and police powers, plus a briefing on the new tax and license bills. A band concert was planned for Emma Square at 7:30 PM.
