Sound Steamers Collision Kills Seven Passengers
In New London Connecticut on March 20 the palatial Sound steamers Plymouth and City at Taunton collided in fog. Seven people were killed and many injured as the vessels with large passenger lists bumper smissaged. The collision left most passengers in berths, causing pandemonium as passengers jumped overboard and a long list of missing remained. Including passengers and crew, about 900 aboard.
