Death of Albert Raas Sudden Loss Shocks Honolulu Trade Circle

Brainerd Smith received a San Francisco cablegram announcing the death of Albert Raas in that city. Raas, 13 years old, was a well known figure in Honolulu and inland, linked with Dillingham Interests and the Daigo Plantation and Commercial Company, where he served as second vice president and auditor. Seamen Wage Exemption Upheld by High Court Dissenting View

The High Court, with Chief Justice dissenting, declares seamen's pay exempt from attachment or garnishment. James L Holt and A Tullet faced an attachment dispute from Inter Island Broad Navigation, appealed from Honolulu district magistrate.
