Troops land at Malta parade before large crowd
United States troops of 2000 men arrived in Malta aboard the Floridan from New York on February 10. General Sir Arthur James Lyon Preemantine and the governor inspected the troops at Florian parade grounds with Admiral Jobe and Major General Lord Congleton present. A 600 strong naval and civilian audience observed the ceremony as the Sheridan transport carried a battalion of the Seventeenth.
