Kohala Ditch Sold at Public Auction in Honolulu
Samuel Parker and J Low of the J T McCronon bid for the Kohala water franchise. Low of the J T McCronen offered the only bid of one per cent of gross revenues with a $1,000 annual government fee, and the license was awarded to J Low. The sale occurred at noon under Land Commissioner J W Pratt amid objections from A C Gehr and noting by Territorial Secretary Atkinson. Several officials and local figures attended, including Judge Dole and Col J W Jones.

Dorie Arrives at Hackfeld Wharf with Passengers and Cargo
The Dorie docked at Hackfeld wharf at 7 45 this morning with 70 cabin passengers and 80 crew plus 74 Chinese travelers and many Philippine service staff aboard on their way to Manila. The ship carries 3800 tons of cargo for Oriental ports and 1000 tons for Manila with $176 000 in specie and valuables. Cables report arrival of the Cop tle with 50 tons of freight due Monday from Yokohama.

Full cash value in tax law debated by Territorial Supreme Court
The Territorial Supreme Court unanimously refused to sustain appeals by Kash Co and Pacific Hardware Co on the meaning of full cash value for taxed stock of goods. Associate Justice Perry notes that full cash value equals inventory value for business books and may differ from what cash would fetch if sold. each case depends on inventory methods.
