Army Bill Accepted by House Military Committee

Washington March 1 The House Military Committee agreed to accept the Senate Army bill without amendment. The session drew strong interest as analysts saw full Senate acceptance reduce risk of extra session. The final vote was 10 to 8 with three Democrats joining seven Republicans in favor and two Democrats plus one Republican in opposition.

Helene Returns to Lahaina Port After Kailua Voyage

The Helene arrived in port this forenoon from Kailua and Lahaina. She departed Kailua after taking on Prince Capid Kala sunole and wife, then picked up HY Kaldwin, Andrew Adams, Morris Koohokalole, and Mrs C Hayselden in Lahaina. At departure from here she had no sugar, but is unloading quickly now.

Hawaii route expected by Pavlie Coast Steamship Co

Reported from Seattle on February 27 that the Pavlie Coast Steamship Company will establish a Paget Sound to Hawaiian Islands line. The first vessel City of Pueba will be withdrawn from government transport services and sails in early March. One monthly trip planned with crew ready for the new service.
