Fragmented Narrative of Sioux War Camp Scout Encounter
A fragmented wartime vignette follows a rider and a companion as fatigue and apathy mix with moments of danger. A distant Sioux threat looms while scattered troops press toward a valley, and a tense exchange with a wounded companion unfolds amid the dust and heat. The scene shifts to a later note of Chinese arrivals and a political shift aboard a command post near the track.
