In Boston on June 8 the St Louis club defeated Boston with a 5 to 0 whitewash. Breitenstein pitched a superb game allowing only three hits, one to the outfield. Only one Boston man reached third base and two reached second. Attendance 1500. St Louis had 11 hits and one error, while Boston had 3 hits and 1 error. Prizes Set For Hawaiian REV Revolution Orations

At the Hawaiian Society Sons of the American Revolution annual meeting a special committee's report was adopted offering four prizes of 25, 20, 15 and 10 for written and declaimed orations by Honolulu school pupils on The Objects and Results of the American Revolution. The contest will be held in June 1897, with delivery not to exceed ten minutes. Winners may be asked to present on July 4, 1897. Committee members appointed to aid the Fourth of July committee include W. Jones, W. F. Allen, G. W. King, Dr. Pratt and W. C. Parke. Officers elected for the ensuing year: P. Jones president, A. I. Judd vice president, John Effinger secretary, William J. Forbes treasurer, Prof. W. D. Alexander registrar, Rev. Douglas P. Birnie, J. W. Jones, and W. P. B. Allen, board of managers.
