Heppner Devastated by Sudden Cloudburst Flood

Incendiary Cane Fires In Kahuku Japanes Workers Strike Ends

Kahuku plantation faced two cane fires on June 6 and June 11 with authorities suspecting arson. Yamamoto, a local Japanese resident, was arrested then released after investigators found insufficient evidence. The strike by Japanese workers ended when Yamamoto was freed and production resumed.
