Big Sand Shaken By Farthquake Shock

Two heavy earthquakes rattled Kau coast on Tuesday. The lava flow between Kona and Kau steamed high as ships’ timbers creaked, with strong rumbling sounds. Reports from Purser Priel aboard the Mamie Lan say the temblor rolled the vessel and lit lava, with shocks strongest near Kau and felt toward Kona and Maguire ranch. no damage reported.

QMOLEHAO Distillery Experiments Reported By Official

Ralph Johnstone of the Internal Revenue Department has returned from Kona reporting that the new distillery in Hawaii is in an experimental stage with no commercial run yet. He brought back sour mash samples for testing the quantity of okolehao obtainable, while Judge C F Hart, visiting his Nuu plantation, was a passenger aboard the Mauna Loa.
